Another warm and sunny day greeted the U12s for their 4th game of the season.

An improved Cottenham side gave us a good game at Home which created a much closer and tighter contest. The oppositions fielding for this game was much improved which was good to see. They did have 9 players in the field which would have helped al little!

We won the toss and elected to bowl first. As always the whole team bowled with control and kept the score down to 254 for 4. This included some excellent fielding including some confident run outs helped by safe keeping. Our batting was very controlled throughout and we only gave away 2 wickets (264 for 2). The win in the end was achieved by our final pair (Hamza and Rupesh) defending a lead and protecting their wicket. This showed a level of maturity and good awareness of the scoreboard. It’s not always about hitting a four to win but instead batting with a straight bat to not give away -5 runs!!

Ibby - Our best bowler on the night with fast and accurate bowling.
Charlie - Excellent batting with Sujey and again a confident display behind the stumps
Rupesh - Defended his wicket really well and finished the game off to give us the win. Good control and teamwork!
Hamza - When it works his spinning is a very effective attack for us. Keep practicing the art as it’s paying off. Great batting at the end also!
Dino - The cold weather and a sore wrist kept our normally energetic Dino a little quiet tonight. Some good batting again but was a little frustrated by some wayward bowling! Excellent throw to get the run out assisted by Charlie.
Sam - An excellent all round show from Sam for his first appearance for the U12s this season. Great catch also!
Max - The cold weather made it hard for bowling during this game for Max. It was great to see a positive response and the attitude to keep going. Well done!
Sujey - Excellet running between wickets to generate the highest scoring pair with Charlie. A good understanding is being formed by the two of you this season when batting!

Tougher games ahead against Coton which will be a good test for all of us.
