Team Entries 2009

Cambourne Cricket Club are pleased to announce that 3 senior teams have been entered into the CCA league for 2009. The club took the decision to enter a 3rd XI based on expected member growth over the winter and a presumption that the second ground will be delivered as scheduled next spring. In addition to entering the Lower Junior Cup the club have also entered the Cambridge News 20/20 Walker Cup to provide players with an alternative format of the game on Sundays which may suit some people better than the 40 over format.

Blunham Longest Cricket Game World Record Attempt

This weekend, my previous club, Blunham, are making an attempt on the World Record for the longest continuous cricket match.

They start tomorrow morning at 9 am and play through until 8 pm on Sunday. It's a fairly short haul (15 miles!) and anyone is welcome to go along to spectate at some point over the weekend (other than when shifting the soil on Saturday am)……..Details of the game are here

Not sure what episode we are appearing in but probably worth a watch anyway. Click here for a preview.

du Toit Reaches First Ton for Leicestershire

On behalf of the club, i'd like to pass on congratulations to Cambourne resident and CCC supporter, Jacques du Toit who scored his first ton for Leicestershire this week. Sounds like a great knock reaching 103 off 198 balls helping take Leicestershire on to 527 all out, although a draw seems inevitable now.

Newspaper Article

In case anyone missed it, the 2nd XI got their match report printed in the Cambourne Weekly News yesterday.
