Cambourne Handed Tough 1st Round Draw in the CEN 20:20 Cup

Cambourne have been handed an extremely tough draw in the Cambridge Evening News 20:20 cup, playing away at last years winners Sawston II. Despite a strong batting display, Cambourne went out in the first round last season having been comfortably beaten by a very strong St Ives team, but they enjoyed the experience and are will be looking to field a stronger XI in 2010. See full the draw by video here.

Winter Nets 2009/2010 And Other Events

The summer may be nearly over but the club is already looking forward to another successful season in 2010. Tonight will be the last official outdoor training session but in less than a months time our winter net programme will begin which will keep us in the best possible shape over the close season ready for another drive for promotion next year. As per last winter, the nets will be held at the world class training centre at Fenners (just off Hills Road in Cambridge), which boasts 3 nets and a bowling machine.

Coaching Courses and Upcoming Events

Head Coach Mark Tandy has organised a coaching evening next Tuesday the 1st September, 8pm at the pavilion, for all those members who have expressed an interest in becoming a grade 1 or 2 coach. The idea is that Mark can explain what is involved and when the dates are so we can go ahead and book places over the winter months. Anyone interested is welcome and encouraged to attend as the more qualified coaches at the club, the better we will become and it is of course mandatory to have a good ratio of coaches to members to ensure we retain Clubmark status.

1st Ever Game at Upper Cambourne Pitch

1st Game On Upper Cambourne Pitch

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow night (Wednesday 8th July), we will be having our first ever game on the Upper Cambourne pitch. We need you to be at the ground as near to 5.45pm as you can make it so we can get going promptly. Best place to park is probably at the muga just around the corner on Back Lane.

Cambourne CC on Twitter Plus Facebook Logins Enabled

I was slightly bored tonight so I decided to add a Cambourne CC twitter account which will automatically update with news articles as and when they are posted on this website. You also now have the ability to link your own twitter account in this site using "My Account" and from there you can activate a twitter news feed which will list the latest tweets of all other cambourencc.com users. Not only that but you can also now login to the site using your facebook username and password.

Club Given A Trial Run On Upper Cambourne Pitch

I am delighted to announce that the Developers, Ground Contactors and Cambourne Parish Council have given the go ahead for a trial run of the new ground in Upper Cambourne in preparation for a full handover later this month. Therefore on the evenings of Wednesday 8th July and Wednesday 15th July we will be organising inter club 20:20 games on the new pitch as a trial run to ensure that the ground is playable. Although the ground contractors are confident that the pitch will play well, I have guaranteed that the matches will be abandoned if the ground looks to be unsafe in any way. You are all encouraged to give feedback regarding the new pitch to the ground contractors (good or bad) so they can concentrate on areas that need special attention.
