Threes sizzle in Saffron Walden

A scorcher of a day in Saffron Walden saw the threes turn up the heat and cement their lead at the top of the table. The Saffron Walden skipper probably regretted his decision to put us in first, as Graham carried his bat to an unbeaten century on the way to an unassailable double Nelson.

White-wash for Dullingham and 3 in 3 for 2s

It was a White-wash for Dullingham as DW, Ollie and Karl cook-ed up a third consecutive victory for the Seconds!

A superb team performance from the Second XI helped secure another well-deserved win, with the highlight being a 6-fer for Danny White.

Dullingham won the toss and elected to have a bat on a dry wicket despite the heavy storm overnight.

Threes put Elmdon to the test

On a sultry afternoon, the team arrived at the splendidly set ground to view a flat, dry wicket with a smooth outfield falling away sharply at one end. The decision to bat first was an easy one for skipper Graham, with a Cambourne side bristling with batting potential (mostly unfulfilled so far this season it must be said).

Elmdon are our closest rivals in this year’s league, so the need to set a decent score was paramount.

1st XI Match Report

Cambourne arrived at Robinson College on Saturday 30th  looking to make it five wins from five as they took on Camden CC. Having lost the toss (again) the opposition fell into the same trap as our previous opponents and asked Cambourne to bat first (again). Farmery and TK were in fine form. Both regularly hit the ball to the boundary and bought up an opening stand of 50 in the 9th over. Tk was dismissed for a well-made 28 with the score on 71. It was the moment that the all of the spectators (Chris James and a stray dog) had come to see.
