Yet again only 2 sides are playing this weekend and I’m afraid to say (again) there are a lot of players who have had to miss out so apologies for that. However there is an offer for a 20:20 friendly game this Sunday from IP Access at the Lower Cambourne ground. Scheduled start time is 6pm so it will not clash with England's crucial 2nd round clash with Germany. Thirds settle the score against St Giles.

3rd Team Vs St Giles - Sat 19th June 2010

After being on the receiving end of a drubbing earlier in the season, the thirds were keen to put the record straight as St Giles III came to Upper Cambourne for the return leg. A fine performance with the ball saw the visitors restricted to 116-8 and newbie keeper Phillip’s first catch and stumping. A well struck 40 from Vasu helped knock the runs off to claim the thirds’ third win of the season.

Cookie Harvests Win against Barley

Dutch Girls.jpg

Paul Cooke put in a match winning performance against Barley 1st XI on Saturday. Taking two wickets in a three ball spell and posting an unbeaten half century, Cooke senior helped the first team to its second league victory of the season. Cambourne fielded first and opened the bowling with Paul Darrington and Daren Cooke. Darrington bowled an excellent ten over spell, but was extremely unlucky seeing a number of edges fly through the slips. At times you wonder whether his bowling is too good to take wickets - perhaps a few half volleys and full tosses might yield better returns!

Teams For Sat 19th June

As there is no 2nd team game this weekend (again) there are a lot of players who have had to miss out so apologies for that.
Will all players meet at the pavilion at 12.00 midday, Mucho Gracious.

Lee’s Lions give Milton a Mauling

After the inept display by England’s footballers on Saturday there was more than a case to adopt Cricket as the national sport after Cambourne 2nd IX turned in a classy performance earlier in the day.

Teams For Sat 12th & Sunday 13th Games

Ed Meets David Beckham
Once again there is only 1 league club game this weekend. However, super Ed managed to get David Beckham to send us a good luck message from South Africa!
Here are the teams for the games this weekend (includes Sunday)

Sloppy Seconds taken to school by Burrough Green

What happens when you field poorly, drop 6 catches, bowl inaccurately and fail with the bat? You get spanked!!

And that’s exactly what happened as Cambourne 2nds turned in a performance this Saturday that was more Dhaka elementary school than Cambridge University

U10s Clinch Thriller vs St Giles

Cambourne U10s continued their 100% winning start to the season with a nail biting win against Cambridge St Giles at Lower Cambourne. After losing the toss, Cambourne were asked to bowl first and after a good all round bowling and fielding display, particularly from James Teale, Waqas Haque and Vinil Joseph, St Giles were restricted to 238 from their alloted 15 overs.
