Heroic rearguard action from captain Mark Tandy, Vivek Joseph and Mike Longson Junior took Cambourne 1st XI to the brink of victory on Saturday, at home to relegation rivals Burrough Green. Tandy, batting at 8, top scored in the game with a magnificient 34, followed by 29 not out from Joseph and 19 from Longson. Burrough Green however won by 12 runs after posting 139 on a sticky wicket.

I regret to inform you all that the planned Twenty20 tour to Wales, has been postponed until next year. However, on the bright side we do have an exciting social calendar lined up. To The Members of Cambourne Cricket Club

After 5 fantastic years, it is with regret that I am announcing my resignation from the committee as secretary of Cambourne Cricket Club. I will cease all responsibilities as secretary when a replacement has been found, on the date of the AGM or 31st January 2011, whatever comes first.

Having moved out of Cambourne and with the commitments of raising a new family, I have been unable to play games, come to training and attend meetings regularly and this has made it difficult to fulfil my role as secretary and play cricket. This is the reason I have decided to step down.

Before doing the match report I would like to thank Mr Danny White and Stuart Charles for all the help during ground booking's and arranging all the necessary logistics to make this game possible.

Cambourne 2nd XI continued their march towards promotion with a 3 wicket victory over Elsworth at Lower Cambourne.
