17th Century cricket re-enactment at Wimpole Hall

We have been invited by Cambs Cricket to take part in a Georgian Re-enactment Cricket Match on 28th August (Bank Holiday Sunday) in the gardens at Wimpole Hall.

This is part of the 300th anniversary celebrations of Capability Brown, and is a showcase event for cricket in Cambridgeshire in 2016.

This is an excellent opportunity to take part in a fun event and really put Cambourne CC on the map.

Please  let us know through Pitchero or email if you would like to take part in the game.  We need 8-9 senior players and 2-3 junior members to take part.

There will be two sessions (11-12:30 and 1:30-3pm). As yet we don't know whether we will play in one or both sessions. Play will be by the original rules. These include no boundaries, no LBW, 2 stumps (one long bail), 4 ball overs and playing with an original shaped bat (looks a bit like a hurling stick). The games will be played with an IncrediBall, so no pads etc will be required.

In due course we will also send out further information about the event to give further details about the celebrations.
