Warm-up Social Game

warmupgame_2007_018

Hi All,

It's getting close to kick-off 2008 and the plans are rolling for the Pre-Season Social Game, followed by a Warm-Up Game.

We will be running 2 x 20/20 matches on the 26th April, weather dependant, Yes the same day.

  • Get to Grounds for 12:30 for a few pictures/new hat presentations and stretches
  • Stuart will be co-coordinating pictures, so look pretty?
  • Chairman will say a few words
  • Charlie will want to do warm-ups
  • And then we will play cricket in 2 Games

Sounds like fun, come along!

Game 1: Social Game

Start for 13:30

1st and 2nd Captains doing 1/1 random picking and announcing vice captains

(Based on 11 players per team)
The idea is everyone gets a bat and bowl

  • Everyone to bowl at 2 over's (Keeper excluded) = 20 overs (If more needed yah!)
  • Batsmen to retire if reaching 25 (Can return if side is bowled out in the 20 over's)
  • Wides count as 2 Runs and don't get re-bowled.
  • Overline No-Ball = free hit (only way to get dismissed is run out)

To be very much a social thing, getting back into the swing of things in Game 1.

End of Game to have tea/dinner/lunch (Food) Meat is Eat. Still looking for a volunteer to cook!

Game 2: Warm-up Game

After Tea/biscuits/fruit

Selection

  • 1st Team Captain Mark Tandy to select who is likely to play in the 1st Team during the season.
  • 2nd Team Captain Chris Cundell to negotiate with the 1st to balance of players

The main difference is the team selection and process behind selection. (We need to get this sorted ahead of the games in the season) The teams need to be consistent, so the competitive ones can feel the stability before we start the season. Also based on the performance on the day, should give the captains an easier choice for the opening game on the 3rd.

Anyways, same format as above (Based on 11 players per team). Again, The idea is everyone gets a bat and bowl

  • Everyone to bowl at 2 over's (Keeper excluded) = 20 over's
  • Batsmen to retire if reaching 25 (Can return if side is bowled out in the 20 over's)
  • Wides count as 2 Runs and don't get re-bowled
  • Overline No-Ball = free hit (only way to get dismissed is run out)

And No FEES for the day!
Get back into cricket and play more!
