Cambourne CC on Twitter Plus Facebook Logins Enabled

I was slightly bored tonight so I decided to add a Cambourne CC twitter account which will automatically update with news articles as and when they are posted on this website. You also now have the ability to link your own twitter account in this site using "My Account" and from there you can activate a twitter news feed which will list the latest tweets of all other cambourencc.com users. Not only that but you can also now login to the site using your facebook username and password.

Team Selection 4th and 5th July

A couple of things before I announce the teams. Firstly, next Wednesday and the following Wednesday (8th and 15th July) practice sessions will be held at our new ground in Upper Cambourne where we will be organising an inter club 20:20 game to enable us to try out the new wicket and prove that it is safe to play. Your support at these sessions will be much appreciated as it will enable the ground to be handed over for us to use by hopefully the end of this month and we will be able to fulfil some fixtures which we were struggling to find a ground for.

Club Given A Trial Run On Upper Cambourne Pitch

I am delighted to announce that the Developers, Ground Contactors and Cambourne Parish Council have given the go ahead for a trial run of the new ground in Upper Cambourne in preparation for a full handover later this month. Therefore on the evenings of Wednesday 8th July and Wednesday 15th July we will be organising inter club 20:20 games on the new pitch as a trial run to ensure that the ground is playable. Although the ground contractors are confident that the pitch will play well, I have guaranteed that the matches will be abandoned if the ground looks to be unsafe in any way. You are all encouraged to give feedback regarding the new pitch to the ground contractors (good or bad) so they can concentrate on areas that need special attention.

Cambourne III’s fine tea away at Babraham

The 27th of June 2009 saw Cambourne III’s away to Babraham III’s. Even though the match did not prove to be one of epic duration, the 45 minute drive in Simons Van certainly was.

Having lost the toss, Cambourne were put in to bat first and this was a decision that proved to be a wise move for the opposition. The weather at this point was humid and damp, the crease resembling something more in keeping with a racetrack than a cricket square.

Three in a row for Cambourne

Captain Cooke navigated Cambourne's 1st XI to a third win in a row, this time against local rivals Longstowe on Saturday. Cooke, one of the most rounded players in the league, took 4 wickets and sailed Cambourne home with vital runs at the end of the match.

Team Selections 27th and 28th June

UPDATE - Sundays Transitional Game away to Granta is cancelled as we couldn't get a team out.

Here are the teams for the games this weekend. As always, please contact the captain directly for any questions or problems. Meet at the pavilion for all games at 12.15pm.

Brave 3rds dispatched by Sawston

An under-strength third team was found lacking in the face of the young but competent Sawston IV. Captain Wood won the toss and elected to bat, heading to the middle with Chirag, but Sawston’s bowling proved tricky for the openers, with Chirag dismissed in the 6th over and Sunil following quickly behind – run out for a duck after facing just three balls.

Cundell's King in Cambourne Win

Cambourne 1st XI recorded their third victory of the season in today's home victory against Elsworth. The win has pushed Cambourne back up the table and momentum is now building. There were many pleasing aspects to the victory, particularly how the Colts performed under pressure, the return to form of Vasu Kumanduri and, of course, another excellent innings from the form batsmen in the club, Chris Cundell.

Cambourne 1st XI Back to Winning Ways

Cambourne's 1st XI won their home game convincingly against Camden CC, one of Cambridgeshire's oldest clubs, on Saturday. It was a must win game for Cambourne, after three defeats and only one victory to date. The victory was delivered by an outstanding bowling display, excellent fielding and a solid performance from the top 3 batsmen.
