Cambourne Cricket Club is a Clubmark Affiliated sports club which is a national award given by Sport England to sports clubs that have proven higher levels of organisation, management, coaching and safety. This award was presented to Cambourne in August 2008, which is an outstanding achievement when you consider the age of the club and the fact that we join just 11 other Clubmark affiliated cricket clubs in Cambridgeshire and only around 1000 sports clubs nationwide. As parents and/or members, this award gives you piece of mind that the club is being run properly both financially and morally and provides a safe environment where members can simply enjoy their Cricket.

The club runs 2 senior teams, the 1st XI playing in the CCA Junior Cricket League Division 2 and the 2nd XI playing in the CCA Junior Cricket League Division 4 in 2009, with both clubs having achieved promotion in their respective leagues in 2008. The Colts teams are now well established in the U14 and U15 CCYA leagues and for the first time, we hope to enter an U11 side in the league in 2009 after seeing the number of players rise in this age group at Sunday training sessions. We also run a Transitional side which plays on Sundays and is a mixture of U17 and senior players and used a stepping stone for Colts making their way into senior cricket.

The pavillion has been open since May 2007 and provides the club with and excellent facility which has proven a big success so far. Contact the Parish Council directly if you wish to hire this facility for your organisation or event, although check our Event Calendar first.

We are looking for both senior and junior players for what should be another exciting season in 2009 where we will be looking to consolidate and build on the successes of 2008 in the senior teams, enter an U11 side for the first time and continue the growth of our Colts section as a whole. Subject to the number of senior players joining over the winter, we may even consider entering a 3rd senior team into the CCA league, although this is also dependant on the cricket pitch in Upper Cambourne being handed over to us on time. As a result we are actively encouraging new memebers and the best way to get involved is to attend one of our training session or come down to the ground on match day, information for these events being available in the news section of this website or by joining the mailing list. An application form for joining the club is available on this website or on in the pavilion.
